Partner visa (subclass 820)

• Must be in a genuine relationship with a spouse or de facto partner who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen

• Must be sponsored by the spouse or de facto partner

• Must be in Australia both when applying for the visa and when the temporary visa application is decided. Family members applying together must also be in Australia

• Live, work, and study in Australia while the permanent Partner visa is being processed

• Unlimited travel to and from Australia

• Access to free English language classes through the Adult Migrant English Program (if eligible)

• Eligibility to apply for Australia’s public health care scheme, Medicare

• From AUD8,850.00 for most applicants

• From AUD1,475 for Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) holders
